TwinMind Studios ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Road Rank mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Data Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected

Unique Identifiers: We use a unique User ID generated via Supabase to distinguish your contributions (comments, ratings) from others. This is not linked to an email or password as we do not require account creation.

Location Data: To allow you to track and discover routes, we collect and process information about your actual location. We use Precise Location (GPS and network-based) to map your favorite roads and provide accurate route discovery.

Note: You can enable or disable location services through your device settings at any time.

2. Purpose of Processing

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service (tracking and sharing routes).
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features (commenting and rating roads).
  • To provide localized content based on your current region.
  • To monitor the usage of the Service and detect technical issues.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

As we operate in the United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases:

Consent: By enabling location permissions on your device, you consent to our collection of location data for the core functionality of the app.

Legitimate Interests: We process User IDs to maintain the integrity of our rating and commenting system.

4. Data Storage and Security

We use Supabase as our primary backend provider. All data is stored securely and is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Retention: We retain route data and associated User IDs to ensure the community-driven road database remains useful for other users.

Your Rights (Deletion): Under UK GDPR, you have the "Right to Erasure." Even though you do not have a login account, you may request the deletion of data associated with your device.

To request data deletion, please contact us at tom@twinminds.studio with your request. We will process your request within 30 days.

6. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers").

Supabase: Provides our database and backend infrastructure. They are restricted from using your personal data for any purpose other than providing these services to us.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is restricted to individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a minor without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
